Cowboy Dan and Search For Yeti: Two EPs Tour w/Persimmon (Papaioea/Palmerston North - ALL AGES)
Tāmaki Makarau janglers Cowboy Dan are hitting the road to celebrate the recent vinyl release of their Two Eps: We Will Hesitate, When We Eventually Wake / Sentimental Now That We're Leaving.
Aptly described at some point as ‘like The Bats on just the right amount of red bull’, Cowboy Dan continues the great New Zealand tradition of jangly, happy-sad music. Chiming guitars, upbeat rhythms, and poignant lyrics are at the forefront as they craft their unique brand of alternative jangle rock. Since forming in 2015, the Tāmaki Makaurau four-piece have made their mark on the Auckland indie scene as an energetic and engaging live act not to miss.
Joining Cowboy Dan on the road is Search For Yeti who are a Te Whanganui-a-Tara based indie rock/shoegaze/post-rock/ new wave band that frequently enchants audiences with their atmospheric sometimes-quiet-sometimes-not live shows.
Both groups are established in their own scenes and collectively have taken part in a range of music events such as Cupadupa, RNZ Live, 13th Floor sessions, Borderline Festival and countless dance-inducing local gigs in their respective homelands. They are super chuffed to hit the road together for this lil tour and to share the stage with some incredible local acts along the way.'
Support at the ALL AGES (!)Te Papaioea / Palmerston North show from local fresh indie pop 4-piece Persimmon. Returning to Aotearoa after years living and playing music in Melbourne, principal songwriter Austin Boyle brings influence from the contemporary Melbourne garage pop scene, collaborating with old and new friends to produce catchy jangly indie pop songs. Kiwi accents deliver slice-of-life lyrical accounts supported by multi-part harmonies and crisp clean guitars.
Come on out, experience something new and relish these fresh and engaging Aotearoa bands. Bring ya pals.

Dr Sure’s Unusual Practice (AUS), Persimmon, The Fair Light Choir- CALH Sideshow
Naarm/Melbourne's Dr Sure’s Unusual Practice, make modern punk music in the primordial sense of the word - no rules. Combining elements of synth-punk, new wave, full power rock n roll, avant-garde and surrealism. Problems / Michael Logie / Showponi / Researchintospeed
PROBLEMS is weirdo, fun, dance music stuff. I used to do the one person band The Show is the Rainbow. PROBLEMS has done releases on Orange Milk Records (Machine Girl / Deaths Dynamic Shroud / Eyeliner), played Meow Wolf with Dan Deacon, and opened for Peaches, Lighting Bolt, and tons of others.
Michael Logie (ex Mint Chicks / F in Math) is an electronic musician from Auckland, New Zealand. Michael Logie’s debut EP “FKD Night” is a collection of synth heavy songs trudging through discarded junk food wrappers, broken glass and a puddle of what you hope is water on the way to the dancefloor.
It should invoke visions of the things he witnessed while living overlooking Myers Park. Like Myers Park it staggers and lurches from fun, wonky and beautiful, to the dark and disturbing, a place of and in-between two party points.

Calla - Patterns of Remedy Tour - Te Papaoeia Palmerston North
Calla is a force of nature wielding unique musical skill as a spiritual spellcaster capturing audiences in a suspended time-rift. A master of the-human-voice-as-instrument, electronic musician, violinist, and pianist, Calla is one of those people for whom music is not a pond lightly dabbled in, but an ocean that she calls home. It’s not so much that she plays music; it simply pours out of her. Expect elements of operatic vocals, heavy bass, and hommages to the worlds of folk, pop, and cinema epics. If music is the language of the soul then Calla speaks truth in many tongues.
This winter she’s touring Aotearoa with her second album, Patterns of Remedy. The album shows the breadth and depth of her musical palette, with lines of jazz, shades of classical, gradients of bass music, outlines of the experimental, and a background of art-pop. Themes range from the pre-apocalypse golden hour of our civilisation to the thousand hidden kisses of forbidden love, with vast ground covered between.
This is not background music to stand around and yarn to your mates over a cold one, save that for afterwards. This is a listening experience designed to stir the depths of our primal and vulnerable inner worlds.
ABG
ABG is a Pōneke-based producer and selector. A drummer by trade, Josh (Recitals, SODA BOYZ) began producing under the ABG moniker to avoid having to try and play in time. Their string of releases via imprints such as the Big Fresh Collective highlight a penchant for kicks, breakbeats and sub-rattling basslines. However, their recent live sets have seen them corral an ensemble of drum machines and synthesisers to create a more tempered, spacious sonic tapestry.
Confusiohm (DJ)
There is a hunger in some, forcing them to consume vast oceans of pith to uncover a sliver of brilliance. Helpless but to tirelessly wander through dreary wastelands to patiently unearth the coveted truffles of inspired passion. It is a cursed life to have such an eye, a palate, an ear. The relationship of these few to satisfaction can swing and gnarl from obsessive and euphoric to bitter and gaunt, but the archived fruits of their tireless trials are treasures of human culture.
A librarian that supersedes registries: Confusiohm is a shaman of celebration, and an alchemist of atmosphere.
Murgatroyd
Murgatroyd are super excited to be back in beautiful Papaioea/Palmerston North, and they've assembled a lineup with something for everyone.
Like to be flayed alive by swarms of screaming flies with razor blades for feet? Yep. Feildings Best Dancers
Like the sensation of being slowly drowned in a bog while being surrounded by hooded figures? Yep. Swampwitch.
Like to be beaten with hammers while being accosted by some acid casualty coming down from a bad trip? Yep. Murgatroyd.
Felix-Florian Tödtloff joins us from Berlin, Germany to ply us with his droning, ambient soundscapes.
